Birthday Buddies

Is your birthday today? Or is it the birthday of anyone you know? There's a way to make it just a little bit more special for a birthday girl or boy, by looking up who else shares a birthday with your friend - a "birthday buddy" who's just a little more famous than you are, at the moment.

For example, here are some famous figures born on March 10:

March 10

1867

Lillian Wald, social worker/reformer (Cincinnati, OH; died 1940)

1888

Barry Fitzgerald, actor (Ireland; died 1961)

1903

Claire Boothe Luce, playwright/politician (New York, NY; died 1987)

1940

Chuck Norris, actor (Ryan, OK)

David Rabe, playwright (Dubuque, IA)

1947

Bob Greene, journalist (Columbus, OH)

1958

Sharon Stone, actress (Meadville, PA)

1964

Jasmine Guy, actress (Boston, MA)

Prince Edward, youngest son of England's Queen Elizabeth II (London, England)

1966

Edie Brickell, singer (Oak Cliff, TX)

1977

Shannon Miller, champion gymnast (Edmond, OK)

The next few times a friend celebrates a birthday, look up the list of birthday buddies on this website and print it out to include in your card.

For your own birthday, type in your month and day, and then print out the names of your birthday buddies. Then go to a search engine such as Google.com or Yahoo.com and run a search on each name. Read up on who they were or are, and what they've accomplished or why they're famous. Write down a few notes.

Someday, when YOU'RE a world-renowned big shot, come back to this website and check out your own name among the greats. Let's just hope they spell your name right, and get your birthday correctly!

It's a great website all the way around, but the birthday section is really worth celebrating:
