How Can An All-Powerful God Be My Friend?

If it seems a little incredible to you that the all-knowing, all-powerful God who created the entire universe and keeps it all running can also zero all the way in on little old you, and be your friend, here's a little explanation for how that works:

A Perfect Friend

A man that hath friends must show himself friendly:

and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

-- Proverbs 18:24

Would you like to have a perfect friend?

A friend who loves you no matter what you do.

A friend who is always there when you need him.

A friend who knows you intimately yet still loves you.

A friend who always encourages you and never puts you down.

A friend who is smart but not conceited.

A friend who has no personal problems to distract him.

A friend who is powerful and famous, yet down-to-earth and approachable.

A friend who is righteous yet merciful to others.

A friend who never makes a mistake.

A friend who enjoys having a good time and sharing a laugh with you.

A friend who has the knowledge and ability to help you with everything.

A friend who is not too good to wash your feet or clean your toilet, yet talented enough to be the best at everything.

A friend who puts your interests ahead of his own.

A friend who loves you more than you love yourself.

A friend who would be willing to die for you.

There is only one. His name is Jesus, and He wants to be your friend.

SAY THIS: Jesus is my friend.
