A Gracious Grace

 

            Does your family give thanks before every meal? You should. It takes the focus off yourself and onto your blessings, and gives you some much-needed perspective.

 

            A big reason people don't say grace is that they feel funny with the "churchy" language that's in many familiar blessing statements, or, in the alternative, they don't feel comfortable with a prayer that they say off the top of their head.

 

            So here's a short but sweet one that bridges that gap. Everyone in your family could take turn memorizing and saying this grace at mealtime. Before you know it, it'll be a family habit:

 

            Lord, thank you for the food before us, the family beside us, and the love between us.
